도시와 커뮤니티 연구소 대표 경신원, 부산 인디고서원 북토크 개최 Book Talk at Indigo Bookstore, Busan

도시와 커뮤니티 연구소 경신원 대표는 부산 인디고서원에서 중·고등학생을 대상으로 『소멸하지 않는 도시(The Enduring City)』 북토크를 진행했습니다.
인디고서원은 2004년 설립된 청소년 대상 인문·문화 공간으로, 지속적인 독서와 토론을 통해 청소년들의 비판적 사고를 길러온 곳입니다.
이번 북토크에서는 도시 소멸과 도시의 지속가능성에 대한 논의가 이루어졌으며, 사전에 책을 읽고 참여한 학생들은 깊이 있는 질문과 진지한 태도로 토론에 참여했습니다.
경신원 대표는 “도시는 저절로 살아남지 않으며, 그 미래는 결국 우리가 어떤 선택을 하느냐에 달려 있다”고 강조하며, 인구 감소 시대 속에서 도시가 의미를 유지하기 위한 방향과 전략을 제시했습니다.
Dr. Shinwon Kyung, Director of Urban & Community Research Center, gave a book talk at Indigo Bookstore in Busan for middle and high school students based on The Enduring City: How Cities Survive and Thrive in an Era of Shrinkage.
Founded in 2004, Indigo Bookstore is a humanities-based cultural space dedicated to young readers, fostering critical thinking through reading and discussion.
During the session, students who had read the book in advance engaged in thoughtful discussion, raising insightful and serious questions on urban shrinkage and the future of cities.
Dr. Shinwon Kyung emphasized that cities do not sustain themselves automatically, but are shaped by the choices made by individuals and communities, and discussed key directions for cities to remain meaningful in an era of demographic change.
